Bridge building requires engineers to know all about the materials they plan to use. Wood and metal are often the materials they choose but what about spaghetti? Would that be a suitable material? Would the span of the bridge matter? What about adding extra strands – would that make a difference? At this workshop all the children will make a force meter and build a bridge using one strand of spaghetti. Using their force meter they will test their bridge to destruction. We will adjust the variables and repeat.
